Il nuovo disco di Cat Power.
Praticamente "The Greatest". Ma con le cover.
(E ad un primo ascolto sembra un po' "troppo". Quasi rimpiango il minimalismo di "The Covers Record" e la vecchia versione di Metal Heart).

suonato come sempre ad alti livelli e con la solita voce da brividi, ma con troppa paura di andare fuori dagli schemi di un blues troppo classico e pomposo.
ascoltando la cover nella colonna sonora di "i'm not there", senza un filo di interpretazione e con molto meno carisma di sua maestà (ma questo vale un po' per tutti), sinceramente mi aspettavo qualcosa del genere dalla nuova chan.
spero torni presto a suonare come in quel capolavoro di sottrazioni ed accenni che era "you are free".
meglio mbriaca, insomma.

Sono abbastanza d'accordo. Anche se ritengo The Greatest un gran disco. Meno formale e più di stomaco di quanto si pensi.
Quest'album mi fa un po' l'effetto Norah Jones: un disco pensato per essere sottofondo.
La copertina è proprio anni '70!
